Everything parents need to know before getting started — and if there's something we haven't answered, we're only a phone call away.
About Our Teaching
Every session at Bright Minds is delivered by qualified, practising teachers. Our team includes a senior school leader with nationally accredited headship qualifications and NCETM Primary Mastery Specialist status, alongside a STEM leader holding a Master's in Advanced Educational Practice from UCL and national professional qualifications in senior school leadership.
We teach pupils from Year 3 through to Year 11 — covering primary, the 11+, and Maths and Science at KS3 and GCSE.
At primary level, we cover all subjects, including dedicated 11+ preparation. At KS3 and KS4 (GCSE), we focus on Mathematics and Science, taught by qualified subject specialists.
Our teaching follows Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction — a research-backed approach used in the country's best schools. In simple terms: we revisit prior learning, teach new ideas in small manageable steps, model excellent work, give plenty of guided practice, and constantly check that every child has understood before moving on.
About Progress and Outcomes
We track every pupil through termly mock tests — giving us, and you, clear and measurable evidence of how your child is moving forward.
Yes. We prepare pupils for KS2 SATs, the 11+ for grammar and selective school entry, and GCSE examinations in Mathematics and Science.
About Sessions
Most sessions run as small groups of no more than five pupils — giving your child close attention and the benefits of learning alongside peers. One-to-one sessions are also available depending on your child's needs. We'll recommend the right format during your free consultation.
Sessions run for up to two hours, with the exact length depending on the subject and stage. We'll always advise the right format for your child.
All sessions are held in our small classroom in central Slough — a calm, well-resourced learning environment designed for focus.
